ABOUT US
Who We Are
- SCROLL
It all began in 2018.
The year was 2018. Our director, Steven Drehspul had spent 10 years working for – and alongside – some of Melbourne’s top luxury builders. Throughout those years, Steve learnt he loved the planning aspect of the building process, and then the thrill of watching homes and commercial spaces come to life after weeks and months of creative brainstorming and construction. The relationships he developed with clients along the way taught him just how much he enjoyed working with people and helping them bring their dream spaces to life, from start to finish.
And so he founded Standout Projects, a construction company that does it all. From small-scale bathroom renovations to large commercial builds (and everything in-between), Standout Projects is now an award-winning luxury builder in Melbourne.
Built on trust. Designed for life.
At Standout Projects, we take a transparent and modern approach to building high-end custom homes. From architectural renovations to extensions, our goal is simple: to make every build as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. Creating beautiful, functional homes and seeing families and clients genuinely happy with the results are what drive us every day.
We know that clear communication makes all the difference. As a result, we hold regular site meetings and allocate a dedicated site supervisor to each project, no matter the size, keeping everyone aligned and ensuring your build runs smoothly. Collaboration between our team, designers and cleans means your luxury home stays true to your visions without ever compromising on quality or craftsmanship.
We believe the strongest foundation for any build isn’t just concrete – it’s a trusting relationship with a professional, passionate team you’ll love working with. If you’re ready to create a home that will be cherished for years to come, we’d love to welcome you to the Standout Projects family.
Let’s start building together.
The Team
Steven Drehspul
Director
Steve commenced his building career studying Applied Science at RMIT, majoring in Construction Management – and he’s continued his passion for building, having been in the building and construction industry for over 13 years. However, his depth of experience is far beyond just building. Steve is a seasoned estimator, project manager, site manager and business operator – specialising in complex, high-end builds; both commercial and residential.
Steve Drehspul
With extensive industry experience, Steve became increasingly frustrated by the inefficiencies he frequently encountered—projects often exceeding budgets, missing deadlines, and compromising quality. Determined to improve industry standards, he developed a strong passion for operational efficiency, which he applies to every build.
Like the rest of the Standout Projects team, Steve takes the time to understand your goals and expectations. His expertise in unique builds, combined with his commitment to collaboration, ensures a seamless process that brings your vision to life—a beautifully crafted home, delivered on time and within budget. However, a Standout Projects build is more than just aesthetics. Thanks to Steve’s meticulous attention to detail and quality control, your home will remain functional, durable, and visually striking for years to come.
